I don’t find a lot of D3 with K2 and Calcium together and certainly not in a gummy. My teenage son is a beginner pill swallower so typically he’d be just fine with small vitamin D pills but these he looks forward to. I’m a POC so with my melanin it’s harder for me to get my proper daily levels so my doctor recommended 2000 IU a day. We take two gummies daily. I have not had my blood work checked again since I’ve been taken them but due to some of my other Mary Ruth’s products that have had more immediate tangible results I trust these products completely and am looking forward to my next doctor visit in confidence.

Where do you source your K2 and D3?

Our D3 is sourced from wild-crafted, non-GMO, vegan Lichen. We derive our K2 from Natto, a fermented soybean product which is a traditional Japanese food and the highest food source of natural K2. The process of fermentation and extraction removes soy from the product. Please read the 5-step process, from the supplier, regarding the fermentation to a soy-free Natto. Step 1: Infusion of Non-GMO Soybeans, purified water and Natto strains of K2. Step 2: Automated control of fermentation, with 16 fermentation parameters that are fully controlled through the automated system. Step 3: After 24 hours of fermentation, we gain highly reactive raw material that the Natto strains release; NattoZyme™ and Extra NattoK2™. Step 4: High speed of centrifuge, this rids of impurities thoroughly to ensure highly active feature of raw materials. Step 5: Ceramic Membrane: This process rids the fermented raw materials of any bacteria and/or impurities.

Why is there no daily value for Vitamin K on the supplement fact panel?

"The preamble to the proposed rule noted that there are three general forms of vitamin K: Phylloquinone (vitamin K1), menaquinone (vitamin K2), and menadione (vitamin K3) (id.). For labeling purposes, there is no specific definition for vitamin K and the AI for vitamin K is based on the intake of phylloquinone, the major form of vitamin K in the diet. Thus, the final rule establishes, in § 101.9(c)(8)(iv), an RDI for vitamin K of 120 mcg based on the AI that pertains only to phylloquinone." The FDA determined to change this because they do not believe that studies on menaquinone provide sufficient evidence to suggest that menaquinones affect vitamin K absorption and utilization.
