The original Raspberry Morning Multivitamin contains a blend of 13 vitamins, 4 essential minerals whereas the new Essentials+ blends have 14 vitamins and 3 essential minerals and an additional organic fruit blend that includes Elderberry! We also adjusted the amounts of several of the vitamins. Depending on your body’s nutrient needs, one formula might be more beneficial for you than the other. If you are unsure which multivitamin would best fit your needs, we’d recommend consulting with your physician or healthcare professional.
Q: How should I use this? Can I take it with drinks or food?
A: We suggest that everyone start with ½, or even ¼, the recommended dose to see how their body responds. You may see that you do better with a smaller dosage because our formula is potent! It can be taken on an empty stomach or with food, any kind of liquid or juice.
Q: I see there is NO SUGAR in the vitamins, which is great! What makes it sweet then?
A: Great question! We pride ourselves in being one of the only liquid vitamins that does not use fructose as its base! Instead we use purified water. The sweetness comes from natural vegetable glycerin which is known for its sweet taste while still being very low in the glycemic index. We also use Organic, Non-GMO Vegan Stevia (leaf) Extract. When tested by a third party lab, our vitamins were confirmed to have ZERO sugars per serving!
Q: Can I give the Multivitamin to children? What is the dosing?
A: Yes, children, ages two and up, can use our formula. A: Navigating B-vitamins and MTHFR can be tricky! While there is a considerable amount of information coming out on genetic variations and how they affect our biochemistry and health, the MTHFR deficiency is not yet fully understood, including how various B-vitamins affect any given individual. Elevated homocysteine levels, often caused by the MTHFR gene variants, is associated with deficiencies in B9 (Folate), B6 and B12.
The primary concern for those with MTHFR gene variant(s) is Folate (vitamin B9). People with MTHFR gene variant(s) need to avoid synthetic forms of folate (B9), like Folic Acid. There seems to be some evidence that Folinic Acid is safe for those with the less severe MTHFR gene variants, while preliminary studies show that those with more severe MTHFR variants may require 5-MTHR (Methylated Folate) supplementation and/or treatment with betaine (trimethylglycine) to aid in metabolizing homocysteine.
