What is ESG?

ESG, or Environmental, Social, and Governance, is a commitment that reflects an organization's dedication to making a positive impact. It means prioritizing sustainability, ethics, and responsibility.

At MaryRuth's, we're focusing on four key SDGs in 2023:

Zero Hunger: Providing nourishing food to those in need.

Good Health And Well-being: Supporting health and wellbeing for all.

Quality Education: Improving educational opportunities in our communities.

Climate Action: Reducing our environmental impact for a healthier planet.

HUNGER RELIEF:

✋ Our Pledge: We're committed to providing nourishing food to those in need, promoting wellness.

Volunteer Hours:

MRO employees will contribute 150 hours to hunger-related charities.

MaryRuth's Q2 Health and Wellness Challenge:

Employees participated in a wellness challenge, and we donated $3,000 to "No Kid Hungry."

Blessings in a Backpack:

We donated 1,200 vitamin and snack products to 122nd St. Elementary.

We offer discounted products to 5,200+ people in our community.


Community Donations:

We donated vitamins to various organizations.

Whole Kid's Foundation:

We donated $50k to provide healthy school lunches and education.

MRO Internship Program:

We onboarded 12 interns in June 2023, providing valuable skills and experiences.

CLIMATE ACTION:

✋ Our Pledge: Reducing Greenhouse Gases (GHG) and protecting the environment.

GHG Inventory Results:

Our first GHG inventory showed corporate emissions at 441 tCO2e and product-based emissions at 11,918 tCO2e. We're setting GHG reduction targets. https://www.epa.gov/ghgemissions

B Corp Certified:

We are officially B Corp certified with a score of 81.4 points, focusing on workers and the environment.
