How it works

  • Long used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the edible Lion's Mane (Hericium erinaceus) Mushroom is known for its nerve and brain health properties.
  • Most of the effects of lion’s mane seem to be connected to an increase in the production of NGF, a small secreted protein that acts as a neurotrophin and has many important roles in neuronal survival in the brain.
  • As a nootropic botanical as well, lion’s mane has been found to support cognitive function, and its nervine properties may promote neuronal survival.
  • Though this mushroom is still being studied to determine its further potential, you may want to try this tincture to experience the great benefits of lion’s mane for yourself — both those benefits we know about, and those we’re just learning about.

I really enjoy this product, this will definitely be something I order with a subscription. Give it a try, it really works.

Unknown Entity

First off I really like the few Mary Ruth’s products I’ve used. However, in the case of the lions mane, how can you get away without telling your customer what your products consists off? For all anyone knows, this could be glycerine with a pinch of ground up dried lions mane stirred into the batch.

A super reputable product should be able to tell you the total mg of lions mane, an extract ratio (if it is in fact an extract), and whether it is from the mycelium and/or fruiting body (disclaimer - many brands seem to fall short on disclosing all of these details but there are several that I’ve found that do provide it all). This page and the photos of the label indicate none of that!? I’ve seen a photo of an old label that indicates all of this but the website does not seem to support that as current?

That does not inspire confidence in a product that you “personally stand behind.” If you buy this product, I highly recommend you research recommendations on how to pick a good functional mushroom supplement and avoid the flood of bandwagon brands pushing junk.

Unfortunately I’ve found a lot of reputable brands with low quality, low concentration mycelium powder which is a waste of money. I’m not saying this is junk, I’m just saying that they sadly don’t feel the need disclose this information, which makes me wonder why not?

Received an email with an offer for $20 off my next purchase. I ordered more Lion's Mane, when I was completing my order I added the code for the $20 off and received a message that the offer was invalid for my order. Very disappointed

Made me extremely tired I stopped talking it after first week. I would not but it again.

Organic Lion’s Mane Liquid Drops

Have A Question? Great, Ask Us!

Really. We are here to answer any question you may have.

What does Neuroprotective mean?

Neuroprotective refers to the preservation of neuronal structure and brain health. Phytochemicals from medicinal plants with these properties play an important part in the brain’s maintenance of chemical balance, influencing neurotransmitters and aiding in the preservation of neuronal structure and function.

What is a Nootropic?

Natural nootropics are herbs and botanicals traditionally used to support cognitive function, particularly executive functions — focus, memory, creativity, or motivation — in healthy individuals.

What is a Nervine herb?

Herbs which are known to soothe and support the nerves are called Nervines. These calming herbs soothe the mind and support the nervous system.

What is the content of Lion’s Mane in this product?

While this is a proprietary blend (and thus we cannot disclose the amounts of Lion’s Mane in the product), this is also just a difficult question to answer! Most of our herbal products are glycerites, which means that the botanicals are steeped in glycerin to extract the beneficial constituents and compounds contained in the botanical(s). Rather than thinking of it like a recipe, where a certain amount of x is added to y, it may be easier to think of it like a tea bag steeped in hot water. The tea it produces doesn't contain what was contained in the tea bag (otherwise you're drinking small bits of whatever was in your tea bag!), but the steeping process pulls flavors, aromatics, and various compounds from the bag of tea. The process of creating a glycerite herbal product is similar to this!
