How to Use the Power of 1 Minute to Accomplish Your Goals
Never underestimate what you can do with one minute.
When setting goals, many people often like to set their yearly resolutions with lofty intentions in mind. But the truth is, most people underestimate how much they can accomplish with every small action they take.
Even taking one minute per day to do something that’ll help move you forward towards your goals is worth it. Every minute truly counts!
How Just One Minute Matters
To put it into perspective, at the end of the year:
1 minute per day = 365 minutes or over 6 hours
2 minutes per day = 730 minutes or over 12 hours
5 minutes per day = 1,825 minutes or over 30 hours
10 minutes per day = 3,650 minutes or over 60 hours
This means that spending simply one minute each day for a year towards your goal totals over 6 hours spent on that task. Up that to ten minutes per day to dedicate to one of your goals, and you’ll have spent over 60 hours in a year working towards something that you care about!
For example, cleaning your entire kitchen and organizing each pantry may seem like a daunting task, especially if it’s not something that you typically keep up with. But if you were to dedicate five minutes each day to work on a small section, you can potentially clean and organize your kitchen entirely over the course of a month.
Dedicating five minutes (or even just one minute!) toward a task may seem as if it’s not worth it in the moment, but when you think about how each of those minutes adds up, you realize that every minute matters and how much you can accomplish in a longer period of time.
This is called the compound effect, which is a strategy of accomplishing bigger goals or tasks through continuous smaller actions over time.
Utilizing the power of one minute will help you reach your goals without the added stress of feeling like you have too much to do at once so that you aren’t overwhelmed.

Time Blocking to Accomplish Your Goals
Here at MaryRuth’s, we aim to empower you to create structure within each 24-hour period through performing micro-actions to achieve your macro goals — and you can’t get much more micro than utilizing even one minute per day!
Something as simple as taking your vitamins as a part of your daily routine every morning is an action that will help you to keep moving forward every day. Just think of how you are supporting your health and wellness by taking this one minute each day for yourself, and how you’ll feel by the end of the year.
How can you remember what actions you’d like to take every day to help work towards your goals? We recommend time blocking!
You can write down tasks you’d like to accomplish by hour, and even write in some of your one-minute blocks of time you want to dedicate towards a larger goal.
