Roasted Red Pepper Sauce Recipe

This flavorful, 8-ingredient Roasted Red Pepper Sauce bursts with fresh bell peppers, garlic, onions, and celery! I love this sauce, and I ate it all the time with pasta when I was pregnant with my twins. It’s a great alternative to using a traditional tomato sauce for those who’d like a sauce with less acidity and some different flavors.

Roasted Red Pepper Sauce Recipe

An easy and delicious alternative to traditional marinara sauce. 

 

Ingredients:

  • 6 red bell peppers
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 onion
  • 1 stalk celery
  • 1 cup of water
  • Garlic powder
  • Dried oregano
  • Sea salt

 

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees convection.
  2. Roast the six red peppers until soft, about 20-30 minutes.
  3. Let the peppers cool entirely.
  4. Peel the skin off the peppers and remove the seeds and stems. 
  5. Caramelize the chopped carrots, celery, and onions in a skillet while adding in the spices.
  6. Add roasted peppers and caramelized carrots, celery and onions into a mixing bowl.
  7. Pour in one cup of water.
  8. Use an immersion blender to mix everything together.
